"Every village has a story, every story has a song"
Our Musical Tours of Ireland
The Pub Runners launched their Musical Tours of Ireland in 2018, traveling the countryside and performing in the very places that inspired many of the songs they sing. Since then, hundreds of fans have joined them on these unforgettable journeys. This page invites you to follow along—explore the links for more details, photos, and videos.
In 2026, the band and their fans embarked on an unforgettable journey through the North of Ireland. Their first stop was in Trim, where we visited the castle featured in the film Braveheart, before continuing on to Donegal.
From Donegal Town we traveled into the surrounding countryside. We ventured to the striking landscapes of Slieve League and Glengesh Pass. and had stops in Killybegs and Sligo, including time at St. Anne's Church and the historic Sligo Abbey.
Crossing into Northern Ireland, the tour continued through Derry and the dramatic Giant’s Causeway, followed by a full day in Belfast, including the opportunity to visit to the Titanic Museum. The journey then wound through Carrickfergus, Banbridge, Carlingford, and Whitestown, where the Mountains of Mourne can be seen across Carlingford Lough. We ended our tour with a meaningful stop at Monasterboice near Drogheda for a memorial tribute.
Along the way, the group gathered in pubs throughout the region, sharing songs that brought the stories and spirit of each place vividly to life.
Highlights from previous tours have included singing at the International Eucharistic Shrine at Knock, a Mayoral Reception at Carrick-on-Suir (home of the Clancy Brothers), a stop at the Ballintubber Abbey, where we sing (the letters from) “Kilkelly, Ireland” plus at stops in Cong, Doolin, Spancil Hill, Dingle, the Dingle Peninsula, Galway, Oranmore, Newport, Killarney and many other small towns and villages along the way. The group has open invitations to play in many communities they have visited in Ireland upon their return.
The unique tours have been featured in regional Irish newspapers such as the Kerry's Eye, Tipperary Star and Clare Champion. Those who have accompanied the band have said travelling with the Pub Runners is unlike any tour they’ve ever taken.
